The Pixelbook Go is also incredibly light weighing in at only 2.3 pounds - that makes it the lightest laptop I have (among my stable of laptops): it’s about the same weight as my 11-inch iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard combination. That gets you an 8th Gen Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and an excellent, very bright 1,920-by-1,080 touch display - all of the above is more than enough for a Chromebook. It’s a little pricier than many Chromebooks but is still much cheaper than a Windows laptop or MacBook with similar performance, build quality, weight, and materials. Overall, it’s a very quick setup compared to a new Windows laptop or a MacBook. Then Chrome apps like Messages and apps for photo editing. So, for me, it was a matter of quick installs of Microsoft Office and OneDrive from the Google Play Store. Then you sync with the Chrome browser and gain access to Google Drive, Google Docs, Calendar, Photos etc.įor me, beyond that, everything I use is in the cloud and that includes Microsoft’s OneDrive - which also has an app for Chrome OS. Switch: setting up Chrome OS is almost as easy turning on a brand new Chromebook and signing into your Google account. The point being that unless you’re a professional that needs a professional desktop application that only runs on Windows or the Mac, you’re a very good candidate for a Chromebook.
